What is METCON™?

METCON by Moov™ features a hybrid of resistance training, yoga, high intensity interval training (HIIT), calisthenics, gymnastics, and cardiovascular endurance. During this 60-minute class, we walk you through an intentional warm-up with a combination of yoga poses and body-weight movements, lengthening and warming the muscles that you will use that day.

Next, we’ll coach you through proper technique, so that when the clock starts, you’re ready to get a safe, intense workout. 3, 2, 1, go!

METCON MOVEMENTS:

Yoga principles, bodyweight movements, cardio, calisthenics, gymnastics, strength, core stability, and more.

Equipment used:

Resistance bands, rowing machines, assault bikes, kettlebells, dumbbells, medicine balls, slam balls, gymnastics rings, and more.

FAQ

Do I need to be in shape to start classes at Moov?

No; come as you are! Every workout at Moov is tailored for your needs. Whether you’re joining us straight from the couch or you’re in training for a half marathon, you can scale your workout to fit your ability level. Beginners will start with a focus on bodyweight and gymnastic movements, and eventually progress to light and gradually heavier weights.

I’m new to METCON classes. How do I start?

Just sign up and show up! Our expertly trained coaches will show you how to do all the METCON movements safely and adapt them to your ability level.

What’s the difference between CrossFit, METCON, and Just Moov?

All of our fitness classes have a similar class structure and style of workouts and intensity. Here are the main differences:

  • CrossFit classes feature a full range of movements, including barbell movements and Olympic lifts
  • METCON classes feature a large range of high-intensity movements, but without use of the barbell
  • Just Moov classes feature the same CrossFit workouts, but also offer an alternative to substitute free weights for barbells

Are interval training classes like METCON safe?

Absolutely. Unlike many similar gyms, we believe that in order to get your money’s worth, you must receive constructive attention in every class you attend. Class sizes are limited to guarantee your success, so we always recommend registering in advance to reserve your spot.

Our coaches are expertly trained and certified so that they can help you improve, prevent injury, and achieve proper form at all times.
