What is CrossFit®?

Available in every signature Moov class, CrossFit offers high-intensity functional training that includes the use of heavy weight and barbell movements. All fitness classes at Moov are designed deliberately by our expert coaching staff to train muscle groups safely, efficiently, and effectively.

CrossFit® Movements:

  • Olympic lifts (snatch, clean & jerk)
  • Barbell movements (thruster, deadlift, back squat, bench press, overhead press)
  • Medicine ball movements (wall balls, Russian twists, med ball cleans)
  • Kettlebell movements (swings, carries, snatch)
  • Cardio (rowing, running, jump rope)
  • Bodyweight/gymnastics (handstands, pull-ups, push-ups, air squats, dips)
  • And more!

Most daily workouts are comprised of 2 or 3 of the above movements and performed within a set time domain or performed as fast as good form allows.

Do I need to be in shape to attend a class at Moov?

No; come as you are! Every workout at Moov is tailored for your needs. Whether you’re joining us straight from the couch or you’re in training for a half marathon, you can scale your workout to fit your ability level. The CrossFit and Just Moov options for every workout ensure that you’ll find something that will work for you.

I want to learn how to lift a barbell. Where do I start?

New to CrossFit and want to learn to lift? That’s great! Schedule a free fitness consultation so we can get to know more about you and your fitness goals, and then we’ll get you set up in our CrossFit fundamentals course.

What’s the difference between CrossFit and Just Moov?

All of our signature Moov fitness classes have a similar class structure and style of workouts and intensity. In every Moov class, you’ll have the option to choose between two daily workouts:

  • the CrossFit option features a full range of movements, including barbell movements and Olympic lifts
  • the Just Moov option features a large range of high-intensity movements, but without use of the barbell

Both options provide you with a kickass workout, but we simply offer you the ability to choose how intense you want your daily workout to be.

Are high-intensity interval classes at Moov safe?

Absolutely. Unlike many similar gyms, we believe that in order to get your money’s worth, you must receive constructive attention in every class you attend. Class sizes are limited to guarantee your success, so we always recommend registering in advance to reserve your spot.

Our coaches are expertly trained and certified so that they can help you improve, prevent injury, and achieve proper form at all times.
